The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth imageThrough May 18 Martin Puryear is the focus of a major exhibition of the sculpture of the acclaimed American artist organized by The Museum of Modern Art, New York, and on display at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, 3200 Darnell St. The retrospective features some 45 sculptures that trace the development of Puryear's artistic career over the last 30 years. Dallas Museum of Art imageHeld Over Through May 25 J.M.W. Turner is the largest and most comprehensive retrospective ever presented in the United States of the career of Turner (1775-1851), one of the greatest landscape painters in the history of art. The Dallas Museum of Art, 1717 N. Harwood St., is one of only three U.S. museums to host this landmark exhibition of approximately 140 works. Information: 214-922-1200 or www.dallasmuseumofart.org.

Latino Cultural Center imageThrough July 19 Maestros Tejanos I: Benito Huerta is the first exhibition in an annual series showcasing the work of Texas Latino masters at the Latino Cultural Center, 2600 Live Oak St. Texas contemporary artist Benito Huerta is regarded as one the most innovative Latino artists of his generation, blending myth, iconography and images unique to Mexican and Latino culture with modern world images. Through July 20 Bluebonnets and Beyond: Julian Onderdonk, American Impressionist celebrates the work of the landscape artist and native son who during a short life and career created indelible images of the Lone Star State. Nasher Sculpture Center imageThrough Aug. 31 Beyond the Grasp: Sculpture Transcending the Physical is the newest installation at The Nasher Sculpture Center with masterworks by Medardo Rosso, Alberto Giacometti, Barnett Newman, Richard Long, Anish Kapoor and Christopher Wilmarth. The Sculpture Center, 2001 Flora St., is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and till 9 p.m. Thursday. Information: 214-242-5100 or nashersculpturecenter.org.

Stingray Bay at the Dallas ZooThrough Sept. 1 Stingray Bay at the Dallas Zoo lets you interact with live stingrays - beautiful flat-winged cousins of the shark. After you've touched and watched a while, take a ride on the new 3-dimensional motion simulator to a Pineapple Under the Sea for a visit with SpongeBob SquarePants™ and his buddy Patrick. Exhibit admission is $2.50 per person ($2 per person for Zoo members). The SpongeBob SquarePants 3-D ride is $5 per person ($4 per person for Zoo members) and does not include admission to Stingray Bay. Zoo admission is separate. The Crow Collection of Asian Art logoThrough Sept. 28 Texas Collects Asia continues the year-long celebration of the Crow Collection of Asian Art’s 10 years in the Dallas Arts District. Eight museums and 31 collectors are represented in this ambitious project that features artists from India and Southeast Asia (through June 22) and art from China (July 12-Sept. 28). The works are as diverse and elegant as the Texans who collected them. The Crow Collection is located at 2010 Flora St. Admission is free. Information: 214-979-6430 or crowcollection.org.

Filming Kennedy imageThrough Oct. 12 Filming Kennedy: Home Movies from Dallas showcases silent movie images of President John F. Kennedy - from his 1960 presidential campaign through his funeral on November 25, 1963. The exhibit at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza features 11 amateur films presented in their entirety, some for the first time. Admission is included in the museum's general ticket price of $13.50 for adults and $12.50 for seniors and students. Information: 214-747-6660 or jfk.org.

Irving Arts Center imageJune 7-Aug. 3 Jungles: Photographs of Frans Lanting presents a unique collection of images captured over 20 years by Frans Lanting – master photographer, storyteller and naturalist. Lanting traveled from the Congo jungles to the cloud forests of the Andes. The exhibition is presented in the Main Gallery at the Irving Arts Center, 3333 N. MacArthur Blvd. in Irving. Admission is free.

Image of Kimbell Art MuseumJune 29-Nov. 2 The Impressionists: Master Paintings from the Art Institute of Chicago brings 92 masterpieces by Manet, Degas, Monet, Renoir, Cezanne, Gaugin, Van Gogh and Toulouse-Lautrec to the galleries of the Kimbell Art Museum. It's a feast for the eyes at the Kimbell, 3333 Camp Bowie Blvd. Information: 817-332-8451 or kimbellart.org.

Sept. 14-Jan. 4 No Room to Answer: Teresa Hubbard and Alexander Birchler at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth presents photographs and videos by this collaborative artistic team, including their longtime interest in the early histories of photography and cinema. Sundays Guided tours of the European sculptures outside the Trammell Crow Center, 2001 Ross Ave., are free every Sunday. Tours led by docent John Anderson begin at 1 p.m. at the Trammell & Margaret Crow Collection of Asian Art, 2010 Flora St. Information: 214-979-6435.

First Saturday of every month The Arts District Stroll, guided tours of the Dallas Arts District, are free of charge the first Saturday of every month. Trained docents lead the hour-long, easy walk pointing out the architecture, the tradition and the history of this unique neighborhood. The strolls begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Trammell & Margaret Crow Collection of Asian Art, 2010 Flora St.
