• Bicycles that are clean are permitted on DART Rail and on Trinity Railway Express vehicles when space is available. Effective April 11, 2006: there are no longer time constraints on when bicycles may be brought on board.
  
  
• Cyclists must consider the number of passengers on the vehicle and the impact the presence of the bicycle will have on the safety of other passengers before bringing the bike on board.
  
  
• Cyclists may not block the operator's cab when it is occupied.
  
  
• DART staff, including vehicle operators, DART Police, Fare Inspectors and supervisors may relocate or remove any bicycle that obstructs or has a negative impact on DART operations or passengers.

Updated Oct. 17, 2008: In December of 2008, DART will begin to install bike racks on DART buses. Installation is expected to be complete by the end of February 2009. The delay is the result of some product improvements by the manufacturer. Some things to remember:

• Customers are allowed to use the racks as they are installed but should be reminded that initially, buses with racks may not be available on the return trip. DART does allow riders to carry bikes onboard provided the bicycles are clean and there is room on the bus.
  
  
• Cyclists are responsible for loading and unloading their bicycles on the carrier racks. Bus operators are not allowed to assist. Cyclists use the carrier racks at their own risk and DART is not responsible for damaged or stolen bicycles.
  
  
• If the bike rack is full, riders can still carry their bikes onboard provided the bicycle is clean and there is room on the bus.

• Cyclists are reminded that while DART encourages biketrans commuting, the safety and comfort of all passengers is of the utmost importance and care should be exercised when riding, parking and carrying bicycles onboard. Courtesy and alertness on the part of the cyclist will ensure a pleasant ride for everyone.
  
  
• Bike racks will not be available on Champion 30 foot buses, Paratransit, On-Call or Flex Service vehicles.

Short Term Bike Racks
Bicycle parking racks may be used by DART riders for parking bicycles at no charge on a space-available basis. Overnight or long-term parking of bikes on racks not allowed.

Long Term Bike Storage Lockers
Lockers are available at selected DART facilities. DART riders may rent bicycle storage lockers as follows:

Execute a Bicycle Locker Use Agreement and pay a $15 non-refundable re-keying fee.
