Dallas Area Rapid Transit

There are two types of vending machines in use at DART Rail stations. Both will dispense the same tickets. Please see DART Fares for more information about the types of tickets available from TVMs.

Available at Mockingbird, Cityplace, Pearl, St. Paul, Akard, West End, Union, Convention Center, Cedars and 8th & Corinth stations on the Red and Blue Lines; Morrell, Illinois, Kiest, VA Medical Center and Ledbetter stations on the Blue Line; and Lovers Lane, Dallas Zoo, Tyler/Vernon, Hampton and Westmoreland stations on the Red Line.

To purchase a ticket from a DART TVM like the one shown below, follow the four steps outlined on the TVM. Single-ride tickets and Day Passes are valid only on the date of purchase.

Select ticket type: single-ride* or Day Pass Select fare type: Local, Premium or Reduced Enter your money. TVMs will accept coins, $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills. Collect your ticket and change. * A single-ride ticket purchased from a TVM is valid for rail only.

Available at Downtown Garland, Forest/Jupiter, LBJ/Skillman and White Rock stations on the Blue Line; Park Lane, Walnut Hill, Forest Lane, LBJ/Central, Spring Valley, Arapaho Center, Galatyn Park, Bush Turnpike, Downtown Plano and Parker Road stations on the Red Line; and Victory Station (served by special event service.).

To purchase tickets from a DART TVM like the type shown to the right, follow the steps below. Single-ride tickets and Day Passes are valid only on the date of purchase.

• Local Day Pass. Select A, press P to pay, insert amount shown on the screen and collect your ticket. Machine will take coins, $1, $5, $10 and $20 bills.
• Premium Day Pass. Select B, press P to pay, insert amount shown on screen and collect your ticket.
• Reduced Day Pass. Select C, press P to pay, insert amount shown on screen and collect your ticket.
  
  To purchase multiple day passes, press the appropriate button (A, B or C) the desired number of times. Press P to pay, insert amount shown on the screen and collect your tickets.
  
  Multiple types of day passes may also be purchased in a single transaction. For example, to purchase two Local Day Passes and one Reduced Day Pass, select A twice, select C once and press P to pay. Insert amount shown on the screen and collect your tickets.

• Single-Ride Tickets*. Select I, then select A (local ticket), B (premium ticket) or C (reduced ticket). Press P to pay, insert amount shown on the screen and collect your ticket.
  
  To purchase multiple single-ride tickets, press I, then select the appropriate buttons (A, B or C) the desired number of times. Multiple types of single-ride tickets may be purchased in a single transaction. Press P to pay, insert amount shown on the screen and collect your tickets.

* A single-ride ticket purchased from a TVM is valid for rail only.

Note: Select J to cancel your last entry or press C at the bottom of the screen to cancel a transaction.

DART Fares
DART offers two basic, one-way fares -- $1.50 for local bus and rail service, and $2.50 for Premium express bus service (all route numbers in the 200s) between downtown Dallas and free park & ride facilities in Addison, Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Garland, Glenn Heights, Irving, Plano, Richardson and Rowlett and for two-zone service on the Trinity Railway Express (TRE) crossing the fare zone boundary between Dallas County and Tarrant County.

For those passengers using DART round trip or making transfers to a second bus or rail route, a Day Pass -- $3.00 for local bus and rail service and $5.00 for Premium express bus service and TRE two-zone service -- is recommended. Day Passes are good for unlimited rides (including your return trip) until 3 a.m. Single-ride tickets and Day Passes are valid only on the date of purchase.

Reduced fares are available for seniors age 65 or older with DART photo ID or Medicare Card, non-paratransit certified persons with disabilities with valid DART photo ID or Medicare card, high school students with DART photo ID or current high school photo ID from a school within the DART service area (time restriction may apply; see individual pass or ticket for details), or students ages 5 - 14, no photo ID required. A reduced one-way fare is $.75 and a Day Pass is $1.50.

Downtown Reduced Fare - Reduced fare applies if your trip begins and ends between Pearl Station and Convention Center Station.
