Image of LBJ/Skillman StationThe LBJ/Skillman Station is served by the Northeast segment of the DART Rail Blue Line. Busy commuters can look down and see a miniature version of the nearby freeway on station floors, or look out to the clever landscape design, dividing the large parking lot into neighborly sections with street-like signs marking the mini-distances to the station.

The design and landscaping of the LBJ/Skillman Station celebrates Texas roadways and Lady Bird Johnson's popular highway beautification project. At the grand opening event in 2002, Lady Bird's personal secretary, Martha Tiller, read a letter thanking DART. "What makes my heart really sing is learning you are landscaping the area with native plants and wildflowers!" Ms. Johnson wrote. "Lyndon would have joined me in feeling very proud that you are honoring us for our efforts toward the environment."
